Horseshoe Sun Wreath

A stunning statement piece created from twelve used horseshoes. Truly versatile, it can be used as a door wreath, a decorative focus in any room, or decorate with your own accents to create a wreath for any season of the year. Or lay it flat for an amazing table centre piece! Place greenery or a floral arrangement in it’s centre for Summer celebrations. Or perhaps a hurricane lamp with candle for some Yuletide charm.

Every horseshoe is first heated and cleaned by hand to remove rusty nails and any dirt, surface or gravel from within the fullering. While this process takes longer than using a more industrial method we prefer it as it retains more wear marks and character and leaves a lovely rustic feel to the shoes.

Each shoe is heated again and gently shaped to a relatively uniform size so a pleasing round shape can be created from them.

Once all the shoes are cleaned and prepared they are linked and welded to the other and once again cleaned.

Please note, this item is treated in a sealant to protect from rust in an exterior environment. The sealant may wear over time so the item, if left externally for a long period, may develop a patina. We do advise you keep your wreaths away from damp and protected from the weather if you do not with a patina to develop on them over time.

Wreaths are approximately 44/48cm in diameter and may vary slightly from pictured images depending on the type of shoes used. This is all part of their charm.

Please note this is a heavy item so please make sure any fixtures or fittings you use to display your wreath are secure and strong enough for the weight.

Lead Times:

We aim to dispatch textile & gift voucher within 3 working days of receipt of your order.

For horseshoe creation lead times please bear in mind we are not Amazon! Please be understanding of the time, effort and care that goes into what we do. Each item is individually handcrafted. We do not bulk create and we do not buy in and resell. We make and create everything we offer here.

The majority of our pieces are hand forged and crafted to order.

In general please allow 3 weeks lead time for dispatch of your order. We do endeavour to be as quick as we can while taking time on the art we create. We combine Horseshoe Hearts work alongside farriery (and any emergencies that occur with this!) and other work, family life and our own animals.

Please allow 4/6 weeks lead time for Braided Horsehair items and Horseshoe Photo Frames.

Some larger pieces and larger bespoke orders may take longer lead time.

Please Note: If using your own horse’s shoes delivery lead times are from the date your shoes are received by us, not the order date. Please ensure shoes arrive with us as promptly as possible.

Sending your own shoes:

The address to send your horseshoes to is Horseshoe Hearts, 3 Cromer Close, Little Gaddesden, Herts, HP4 1PR. Please include a note with your name and order number so we know they are your shoes.

On check out you will be given the option to select your item under 2kg to be sent to you via Royal Mail First Class Signed For or via Special Delivery. Please note the only Special Delivery is tracked. Signed For acknowledges when the item is sent and when the item was received. It is not a tracked service. If you are sending precious shoes we recommend Special Delivery or other Tracked and Signed Service.

All items over 2kg will be sent with a courier (usually UPS) and are sent on a tracked and signed service.

International Orders:

We are happy to ship to most locations worldwide. International Delivery is for International Standard delivery. Approx. transit/shipping time between 5-10 days depending on your location. We cannot guarantee shipping times.
