Family Horseshoe Hearts

A unique gift and a stunning addition to any country or equestrian home. We loved the idea of creating something from horseshoes that could represent a members of a family. Blend the past with the present with this gorgeous pair of Horseshoe Hearts. One of our mini Horseshoe Hearts is riveted with farriers nails to a large Horseshoe Heart to make this substantial piece. Personalise it with hand stamped names of your family, to celebrate a new arrival, or in remembrance of a special friend.

The large heart began life as a larger horse’s shoe, being at least 16cm wide and of much heavier weight than in our Original Horseshoe Hearts. The Mini Heart is created from a small pony shoe measuring 12cm or under in width. Each shoe has clips and nails removed, is heated in the forge and hand cleaned to to clear rust, dirt and grit away while retaining marks of wear.

Both shoes are then painstakingly hand forged (particularly the large one!) with great care. They are then buffed and polished and personalised where requested before being riveted together.

Both are treated in a clear sealant to protect from rust and hang from Jute Plait or White Ribbon. We recommend keeping your heart indoors and away from damp. If you do keep it outside it will over time develop a patina.

As this piece requires specific sizes of horseshoes for it’s creation, we have not added the option to have it made from your own shoes. However if you do have a small pony shoe and large horse shoe of your own it could be possible. Please drop us a message via a contact form to discuss.

We aim to dispatch textile & gift voucher within 3 working days of receipt of your order.

For horseshoe creation lead times please bear in mind we are not Amazon! Please be understanding of the time, effort and care that goes into what we do. Each item is individually handcrafted. We do not bulk create and we do not buy in and resell. We make and create everything we offer here.

The majority of our pieces are hand forged and crafted to order.

In general please allow 3 weeks lead time for dispatch of your order. We do endeavour to be as quick as we can while taking time on the art we create. We combine Horseshoe Hearts work alongside farriery (and any emergencies that occur with this!) and other work, family life and our own animals.

Please allow 4/6 weeks lead time for Braided Horsehair items and Horseshoe Photo Frames.

Some larger pieces and larger bespoke orders may take longer lead time.

Please Note: If using your own horse’s shoes delivery lead times are from the date your shoes are received by us, not the order date. Please ensure shoes arrive with us as promptly as possible.

Sending your own shoes:

The address to send your horseshoes to is Horseshoe Hearts, 3 Cromer Close, Little Gaddesden, Herts, HP4 1PR. Please include a note with your name and order number so we know they are your shoes.

On check out you will be given the option to select your item under 2kg to be sent to you via Royal Mail First Class Signed For or via Special Delivery. Please note the only Special Delivery is tracked. Signed For acknowledges when the item is sent and when the item was received. It is not a tracked service. If you are sending precious shoes we recommend Special Delivery or other Tracked and Signed Service.

All items over 2kg will be sent with a courier (usually UPS) and are sent on a tracked and signed service.

International Orders:

We are happy to ship to most locations worldwide. International Delivery is for International Standard delivery. Approx. transit/shipping time between 5-10 days depending on your location. We cannot guarantee shipping times.
